Learning Express Library

LearningExpress Library is a comprehensive, interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial courses designed to help users improve basic skills in reading, writing, and math, as well as prepare for high-stakes tests such as the GED, ACT, SAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, GMAT, ASVAB and others. LearningExpress has helped millions of library patrons and students prepare for a wide range of career-oriented licensing and certification exams in areas such as health care, education and civil service as well as improve job skills such as creating a great resume or cover letter, honing interviewing techniques, and improving business communications.

The innovative platform includes self-paced interactive study, instant scoring, and diagnostic feedback, and can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. Users will need to create an account using the barcode from your Bedford library card as your Username and making up your own Password.

So if you need to pass a test, are looking to land a job, want to get your U.S. citizenship or pass your real estate exam then try out LearningExpress so you can achieve the results you want in school, at work or in life.

Bedford Library joined twelve other area libraries to form a consortium which allowed for discount pricing to the participating institutions. This database was paid for by the Friends of the Bedford Public Library.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Friends members can get a jump on the good stuff by coming to the Members Only Preview Sale on Thursday, August 13 from 7-9 pm. Not a Friends member yet? No problem, just purchase your membership at the door. Memberships start at $10 per year.

An Afternoon of Romance

Make a date with the Friends of the Bedford Public Library for An Afternoon of Romance. Meet successful romance authors and learn what it takes to get published. There will be High Tea, Author Signings and Door Prizes!

Friends of the Library Book Sale

The sale begins Thursday, August 14 with a Members Only Preview Sale from 7 - 9 pm. Friends' memberships will be sold at the door for your convenience. The sale continues through Sunday with the following schedule:

"Freedom!", the Second Annual Short Story Writing Contest

The Friends of the Bedford Public Library are pleased to announce "Freedom!", the Second Annual Short Story Writing Contest. Kids in grades 1 to 12 can enter. Short stories need to be submitted before April 18, and the winners will be announced Friday, May 2 at the HEB ISD Book Blast. Get more details.

The Friends of the Bedford Public Library are now selling new books at the Library. Why buy your books at a nearby bookstore when you can do it so easily at the Library? Save time, gas and Internet shipping fees by buying locally. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Bedford Public Library which in turn provides additional funding to the Library so we can bring you more books, more programs, more everything.

Friends Fall Membership Drive

The Friends of the Library invite you to join or renew your annual membership. Members joining at the Family Level ($15) will receive an autographed copy of Color of Law while supplies last. Your Friends of the Library membership helps support the Bedford Public Library.

The Friends of the Library assist the Bedford Public Library by sponsoring programs, purchasing equipment and materials. Here are a few of the things our Friends did this year:

It is easy to become a Friends of the Library member. Forms are available at the circulation desk. The Friends of the Library meet the third Thursday of each month at 7 pm.
